Vent: I torqued head bolts dry on a 6.7 Cummins for two years
Found out the hard way on a customer's truck in Tulsa that I was supposed to be lubing the bolt threads and washers before torque, not running them dry. Blew a head gasket on a fresh job at 4,200 miles and the machine shop guy asked me straight up if I'd been oiling them. Now I keep a little cup of engine oil on the bench every single time. Any of you got a torque mistake you learned the hard way?
