Tried a ultrasonic cleaner on injectors and got a surprise

I picked up a cheap ultrasonic cleaner off Amazon for 80 bucks to clean some injectors from a 7.3 Powerstroke. Ran them through a couple cycles with Simple Green and they looked great, but two of them tested worse than when I started. Learned that you have to pull the o-rings and do some disassembly first, otherwise the crud just settles deeper in the passages. Anybody else run into this with ultrasonic cleaning?

Man I did almost the exact same thing with a set of Ford injectors last month. Cleaned them up all nice then one started streaming fuel like a broken sprinkler. Guess my 80 dollar amazon special ain't gonna turn me into a diesel wizard overnight.

I used to think you could just throw injectors in a cleaner and call it good, but my first batch of VW diesels proved me wrong. Pulled them out looking spotless, then two started leaking like crazy from crud that got knocked loose inside. Made me realize prep work matters way more than I gave it credit for.
