Took me 8 years to notice the torque spec difference on head bolts
I was helping a younger guy do a head gasket on a 7.3 Powerstroke last month and he pulled up the spec sheet from his phone. It showed 95 ft-lbs with a 90 degree turn, but I've always used 105 from the old book my mentor gave me. We double checked the actual Ford manual and turns out the 2003 and later engines got a revised number. Has anyone else been running old specs without checking the year?
