That old timer who swore by diesel in the oil for sticky lifters was right
A guy named Pete at a truck stop in Laramie told me to add a quart of ATF to the crankcase before an oil change to free up a stuck lifter. I ran it for 20 minutes at idle, drained it, and the knock was gone by the next morning. Anyone else got a homebrew trick that actually saved a rebuild?
