Spent 4 years bleeding injectors wrong until a guy in Tulsa set me straight

I always cracked the high pressure line at the injector nut and cranked until fuel sprayed, thought that was the only way. A seasoned tech watched me do it on a 5.9 Cummins and asked why I was making a mess instead of just loosening the return line banjo bolt to let air bubble out. Has anyone else had a basic habit that took way too long to unlearn?
