Shoutout to the forum post that saved me from pulling the injection pump
Had a tractor that wouldn't start after a fuel filter change. Spent hours bleeding lines with no luck. Read an old thread about air traps in the primer bulb. One squeeze later, it fired right up. Felt pretty dumb but also relieved.

How'd you land on the injection pump being the problem? Your issue was just an airlocked primer bulb, not the pump.

What tests did you do to check the injection pump? In my experience, an airlocked bulb can point to pump wear, not just be the only problem. Your mileage may vary, but I've had similar cases where the pump was slowly failing. If the pump seals are going bad, air gets in and messes with the priming. So I still lean toward the pump being part of the issue.

Sometimes a quick fix just covers up a deeper problem. Squeezing the bulb worked this time, but air in the lines often points to worn pump seals. Those seals degrade over time, allowing air to seep in during normal operation. A simple bleed doesn't address why the air got there in the first place. Pumps fail slowly, and your situation fits early stage wear. Getting the pump tested could avoid another breakdown later.
