Just found out most of us are using the wrong oil filters
I was reading through some old Cummins bulletins last night and found a stat that blew my mind... over 40% of engine failures in medium-duty trucks are linked to cheap aftermarket filters. The bulletin specifically called out Fram and some no-name brands for not holding pressure right. I double checked my last order and sure enough I had three of them sitting on the shelf. Has anyone else run into issues with off-brand filters on a 6.7 or a DT466?

My buddy had a Ford 6.0 that went through three oil coolers before he switched from a no-name filter to a Motorcraft. The ticking got quieter after that, but it never really fixed the problem. @leow90, you might want to check your oil pressure at idle with a mechanical gauge, those Frams can let the bypass open too easy when the oil gets hot. My neighbor swears by Wix filters on his DT466 and he's got over 300k miles without a tick.

Over 40% of engine failures linked to cheap filters" - man, that is CRAZY. I always figured a filter is a filter but that stat makes me want to go check my whole shelf RIGHT now. Fram was actually on my last truck too and now I'm wondering if that's why it started ticking at 80k miles.
