Just changed my mind about using a heat gun on a seized 5/8" injector line nut after 30 years in the trade.

Hold up, are we really acting like changing your mind on a heat gun is some kind of confession? It's a tool, not a personality test. You've been in the trade for 30 years, you've probably changed your mind on a dozen things last week alone. People get way too dramatic about simple tool choices. Just use the heat gun if it works, don't if it don't.
