Hit 500 injector rebuilds and it finally clicked for me
I kept track for years without meaning to. My log book hit 500 injector rebuilds last Friday, and that number surprised me more than I expected. I used to think the cheap reman units were good enough, but after doing that many myself, I can see the pattern in failures. The o-ring quality and proper torque specs make all the difference, especially on the 6.0s. Anyone else track their rebuild count or have a number that changed how they work?

That 500 number is a big deal, but the real story is the 499 before it. The o-ring thing is spot on, most guys I know skip the mic check on the injector bore and that's where the real leak starts. Track the bore condition, not just the rebuild count, that's the metric that actually saves you money.
