Found a way to bleed injectors solo without cussing for 20 minutes
I've been fighting with old Detroit Diesels for maybe 15 years now and always used the old crack-the-line trick. Took me way too long to realize you can just crack the return line banjo fitting instead and let gravity do half the work. Tried it on a Series 60 last week that wouldn't start after a fuel filter change. Had it running in under 5 minutes with a rag and a 10mm wrench. Anybody else got a stupid simple trick they wish they figured out years earlier?

Wasted 10 years cussin at lines before I learned that one too.

Man that "rag and a 10mm" part hit home. I've got an old 8.2L Fuel Pincher in a step van that's a total pain to bleed. After years of busting knuckles on the high pressure lines I finally tried the return banjo trick last month. Used a piece of clear tubing on the return fitting so I could actually see the air bubbles stop. Worked like a charm first try. I still keep a clean mason jar handy for catching the diesel drip though.
