Been chasing a fuel leak on a 12-valve...
I remember back in '99 we'd just slap a new rubber hose on and call it good, never even checked the return line banjo fittings. Now with these ultra-low sulfur fuels, I'm finding the old hoses get brittle way faster, especially on trucks from around Phoenix where the heat bakes them. Anybody else notice the newer fuel blends seem to eat up these older lines quicker than they used to?

...and then you wonder why your injectors start chattering like a sewing machine six months later. Yeah, the rubber feels greasy almost, like it's sweating fuel from the inside. I swear the new stuff makes the lines swell up too, you can barely get the clamps off after a year. At this rate I'm just gonna switch to braided steel and be done with it, sick of chasing leaks every summer.

Haven't you noticed the rubber just feels different now? It's like the sulfur eats it from the inside out.
