Took me 3 hours just to find a decent meeting spot in downtown Detroit
I wanted to host a small networking lunch for about 8 people, but every coffee shop was either too loud or didn't have room. Ended up booking a back room at a diner on Woodward for $50. Has anyone else had trouble finding quiet spots for casual meetups around here?
Honestly I used to think finding a spot in Detroit was easy since there's so many places. But last month I tried to set up a quick meetup for like 6 people near midtown and every single coffee shop was packed or had no tables. The diner on Woodward thing is smart though, I never thought about doing a back room there. Tbh I ended up just giving up and meeting at a bar at 2pm which felt weird but at least had seating.
Do you think diners are just gonna start charging more for those back rooms now that people are catching on? I tried doing a meetup at a bookstore cafe on Grand River once and it was such a bust, the wifi went down and half the group left before we even started talking.
