PSA: found a goldmine for local biz cards at the Rust Belt Market in Ferndale

I was grabbing coffee there last Saturday and noticed a corkboard near the back with business cards from like 30 different local service pros. Half of them had handwritten notes on the back with their cell numbers. Have any of you tried leaving cards at non-traditional spots like that?

This is actually a really smart idea and it connects to something bigger I've been noticing lately. People are getting tired of the big impersonal services and want to deal with real locals they can trust. A handwritten note with a cell number means way more than a glossy ad in a phone book ever did. I think the trick with leaving cards in these spots is you have to pick a place that matches your vibe. A plumber at a trendy coffee shop might not get calls, but a caterer or handyman probably would. It's like how you see little free libraries popping up everywhere now, people are creating their own networks instead of waiting for the internet to connect them.
