Hit 50 new contacts at a mixer last month and it changed how I network
I went to this Detroit Chamber event at Eastern Market and counted 50 business cards by the end. That was way more than my usual 10-15. What got me is that 12 of those turned into actual follow-up meetings within two weeks. Has anyone else noticed that bigger events actually convert better than small ones around here?

Disagree with you on this one... those smaller events at the local coffee shops or bookstore meetups always give me way more solid connections that actually stick around.

Exactly. The big events feel like you're just collecting business cards or something. People actually sit down and talk at those smaller things, you end up swapping numbers or adding each other on whatever and actually following up.
