Had to cancel a $500 networking lunch contract after the venue flooded yesterday

The whole basement level at that Dearborn spot was under two inches of water and nobody told me until 30 minutes before my guests showed up, has anyone else dealt with a last-minute venue disaster around here?

Thirty minutes notice is brutal, that's not even enough time to pivot. Venue managers need to start communicating the second they see a problem, not when guests are parking. Hope you got your deposit back at least.

my buddy had a corporate dinner booked at a place on Michigan Ave and they called him TWO HOURS before saying the AC broke in the middle of summer. he had to scramble and find a completely different spot which meant calling all 15 guests and changing the location last minute, total nightmare. venue managers really need to have a backup plan or at least give people more than a few minutes warning.

Sorry @hayden_rivera but 30 mins is decent heads up for a flood. Venues deal with chaos too.
