Shoutout to the guy at the Colfax bike co-op who talked me out of a new commuter
My rear wheel was wobbling bad on my ride home from work near Sloan's Lake, so I stopped in at the co-op on Colfax to price out a whole new bike. The volunteer there, Marcus, spun my wheel and said it was just two loose spokes and a bent rim, not a dead bike like I assumed. He fixed it in about 20 minutes and charged me $12 for the truing stand time, way less than the $400 I was ready to put down. Now I'm second guessing whether I even needed to look at new bikes at all, and it made me wonder how many of us in this city jump to buying instead of fixing. Anyone got a good bike repair spot they trust for bigger jobs?
