Spent $6,800 on a new furnace for my Park Hill bungalow, best money I ever dropped
Old one was a 1987 relic that finally died in January and the new high efficiency unit cut my Xcel bill from $280 to $140 a month. Kinda miss the old beast rumbling in the basement though. Anyone else get sticker shock on HVAC quotes lately, or did I just pick the wrong three companies to call?
Three quotes for mine ranged from 9k to 14k for basically the same unit, so you didn't pick wrong, the whole game is just wild right now. Half of that gap was labor too, not parts, which tells you these companies are just making up numbers.
