Why does EVERY deal post now require 3 different apps to work
I saw a coupon for 40% off gardening gloves at a site I use all the time. Then I click it and it says download their app, then scan a QR code at checkout, then enter a code from a text message. By the time I did all that I had wasted 20 minutes and the gloves were out of stock anyway. What happened to just typing in a promo code and moving on with your day? Is this just me or is everyone else fed up with these 5 step deals that take an hour to redeem? Has anyone found a way to filter these out because they are ruining the whole point of saving time and money.

Haven't you ever tried to return something to a store without the receipt? That's way more annoying than a few app downloads. I actually think these multi-step deals help me avoid impulse buys. If I'm not willing to spend a couple extra minutes to save 40 percent on something, maybe I didn't really need those gardening gloves in the first place. Plus the stores get to build their email lists and send you notifications about deals you actually care about. Isn't the real problem that you waited until the gloves were almost sold out?
