Vent: That 'premium' HDMI cable deal I bit on ended up being identical to the $5 one from Monoprice

I spent $35 on a brand-name cable at Best Buy three weeks ago before I saw a YouTube teardown that proved it's the same chipset as the cheap ones, so has anyone else had a similar awakening with audio gear or cables?

My 2010 Monster HDMI cable cost me $80 and is still outperformed by a $10 AmazonBasics one today.
