Shoutout to the store brand paper towels I tried after a trip to the dump
I was helping a friend clean out a foreclosure in Tucson last month and we went through 12 rolls in one day. The store brand held up better than the name brand on wet spills and cost me $14 for a 6 pack at WinCo. Anybody else notice the house brand doing a better job lately?

Man that's rough. Good to know the cheap ones actually work better though.

@ninabutler you nailed it. That line about the cheap ones working better hits on something I've been noticing across the board. Shampoo, trash bags, even the budget frozen pizza at Aldi is often better than the national brand now. It's like the big companies got comfortable and stopped trying while the store brands had to prove themselves to get people to switch. I think there's a real shift happening where people are realizing paying for the name isn't buying you quality anymore. The store brands have the same factories and better recipes half the time. Paper towels are just another example of that pattern playing out.
