My coupon clipping habit from the 90s is finally paying off again
I started digging through my parents old filing cabinet last month and found a stack of grocery coupons from 1997. Most were expired of course but about 12 of them were still valid because the companies never put expiration dates on them back then. I took them to the local Food Lion and saved $8.47 on things like canned soup and laundry detergent. Has anyone else had luck with really old coupons or is this just a fluke?

And that's exactly the kind of thing that makes you wonder what else we've all been throwing away too soon, right? I swear half the stuff in my house probably has some hidden lifetime guarantee from back when companies actually stood behind their products. My parents still use a toaster from 1988 and it works better than the one I bought last year. It's like we traded quality for convenience somewhere along the line and nobody noticed until stuff started breaking after two years.

Holy cow, wait a second. @nelson.cameron said your parents have a toaster from 1988 still going strong? That's wild. I'm sitting here trying to remember if I've owned a single appliance that made it past five years without some kind of issue. My first thought is that thing is probably older than some people I know. It's honestly kind of sad thinking about how we just accept stuff dying on us now, like it's normal. That toaster has probably seen more reliable service than my last three cars combined.
