Hot take: those buy one get one coupon apps are a waste for small grocery runs
My coworker Dana at the ShopRite in Edison pulled up a BOGO app for a $2.99 bag of chips and swore she beat the system, but she still spent $14 on stuff she didn't need to "use" the deal. I ran the math on my last three trips and the plain store brand rang up $6 cheaper each time. The apps push you to add items, that's the whole game. Has anyone actually come out ahead with these on a normal week of shopping?
