Coupon stacking at Home Depot backfired hard for me last week

I tried combining three different promo codes on a $279 DeWalt drill kit order. One was a 10% off mover coupon, one was a manufacturer rebate, and the third was a store card discount. The system glitched and canceled the whole order with no explanation, and now I'm waiting 5-7 business days for a refund. Has anyone else had their cart wiped out by code stacking like that?

Did you try calling customer support first? I did the same thing at Lowe's last year with a fridge deal and it bricked my whole order. @joseph932 is right about the tech being bad at handling multiple codes. What worked for me was going to the store in person and having the cashier manually override everything. They ended up doing the mover coupon plus the store card discount but had to skip the manufacturer rebate because it flagged as a duplicate in their system. Still saved about $50 more than not trying at all.

I mean this is kind of how a lot of retail systems work these days, they weren't really designed to handle people trying to stack every possible discount at once. It's like the backend just throws its hands up and cancels everything rather than figuring out the correct total for you. Honestly, I think we've all trained ourselves to look for every deal we can find but the actual tech running these stores just can't keep up with it.
