Stopped by the Littleton dump swap shed yesterday

Found a barely used cast iron skillet sitting on the shelf next to some old lamps. Lady running the place said people toss good stuff all the time because they just want it gone. Walked out with a 12 inch Lodge that just needed a quick scrub. Anyone else have luck at their local transfer station?

Man that's a great find. I once found a whole box of antique Mason jars at our dump's swap area, still had the zinc lids and everything. My wife thought I was crazy hauling them home but we use them for storing dried beans and rice now. The trick is going right when they open on Saturdays before the scrappers pick everything clean. Last month somebody dropped off a working bread machine that just needed a new belt, cost me like 8 bucks to fix online. The swap sheds are definitely getting more popular though, I've seen people camping out at opening time near me.

You ever notice how the scrappers have gotten more aggressive about it? I swear some of them show up with trucks before the place even opens around here. Makes me wonder if they're tracking when the swap sheds get restocked or something.
