Old school price book beats any app I've tried
I used to track grocery prices on my phone with a spreadsheet app, but after 6 months I gave up, the data entry was a pain and I kept forgetting to update it. Last fall I went back to the paper notebook method my mom used in the 80s, just a simple spiral with columns for store, item, size, and price. It's been a game changer for the Market Basket runs and Hannaford trips around Nashua, I can see at a glance that paper towels are always 89 cents cheaper at one place. Plus when I see a clearance sticker for something like 50 cents off, I know instantly if it's actually a deal or just marketing fluff. The whole thing takes me 10 minutes a week while I watch the news, and I've saved maybe $30 a month just by catching price spikes. Does anyone else still keep a physical list, or am I the only dinosaur here?
