Just snagged a whole prime rib for $3.99 a pound at Market Basket in Concord this morning.

Had to ask the butcher when they usually put out the discounted meats and he said Tuesday mornings before 10am is the sweet spot, anyone else have luck with a specific time at their local store?

Those old ladies know exactly what they're doing. They're probably up at 5am texting each other about the deals. I swear they have a whole network.

Honestly, I'm not sure it's that serious. Sounds more like @gavin_reed just got lucky with a random meat drop. Yeah, some older folks are early birds but I've shown up at random hours and found plenty of deals without planning a whole heist. It's not like they're running a secret stock exchange, just normal people shopping.

Oh wow, that's a solid deal... I remember one time I showed up to Market Basket like ten minutes before they opened on a Tuesday and there was already a line of old ladies with their carts ready to pounce. They knew something I didn't. The butcher came out with this cart of discounted steaks and it was like a scene from a zombie movie. I barely got a couple of sirloins and felt lucky. Now I just hang around the meat counter awkwardly whenever I'm there around that time hoping to catch that magic moment...
