Just figured out I was stacking coupons wrong at Market Basket
I was at the Market Basket in Manchester last Saturday and watched the cashier scan my coupons one by one, then realized I'd been handing them over all crumpled up and out of order for years. Turns out you're supposed to organize them by value or expiration date so they process faster and you don't miss savings. Anyone else have a checkout routine they swear by?

Oh man, I have to disagree a little bit about the order thing. Actually sorting them by expiration date can backfire if you've got a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon for the same item - the system might reject one if they're not stacked in the right sequence (manufacturer first, then store, I think). I just lay mine flat in my wallet sorted by size so they don't get wrinkled, and I always double-check each one's fine print to make sure there's no "one per transaction" rule hiding in there.

Nah, I always hand them crumpled up on purpose so the cashier double-checks every discount.
