Hot take: My used furniture buying strategy changed after a friend's comment
She told me I was overpaying for solid wood pieces at antique shops when the same stuff shows up on Facebook Marketplace for half the price. Now I check Marketplace first before hitting any consignment store around Manchester, saved $40 on a dresser last month. Anyone else find better deals on used furniture online than in person?

You mentioned saving $40 on a dresser, but how much time did you waste scrolling through junk listings to find that one good deal?

Starts to feel like the whole economy works that way now. @noah_webb you're right, scrolling through junk takes time but that's just how online shopping works in 2024. Same pattern with everything from concert tickets to car parts - more options means more noise but also better deals if you dig.

Man my brain's basically trained itself to scroll past 90% of listings on autopilot now. Guess I'm paying for that $40 savings with a few brain cells every time I open the marketplace app. Worth it though when you finally spot the good deal hiding under all the junk.
