Hit $50 in savings this month from just one grocery app, but I'm still mad at myself for not doing it sooner.

It took me three months of ignoring that stupid Market Basket digital coupon to realize I could have been saving $50 a month on the same stuff I was already buying.

I actually read this article the other day about how grocery apps are basically data mining your shopping habits to offer you those coupons... and it makes sense why they don't push them harder. Market Basket's digital coupon for stuff like eggs and milk saved me about $20 my first month using it, but I kept forgetting to clip them. The app even sends me a notification now when I'm in the parking lot reminding me to check the deals before I walk in. Kinda creepy but also... free money I guess.

Yeah I had the same thing happen with Stop & Shop's app honestly. I was skeptical at first but then I noticed they had a digital coupon for their store brand pasta that was like buy one get one free. I clipped it and saved like four bucks on boxed stuff I was buying anyway. The thing that got me though was the app started suggesting deals based on stuff I buy every week like bread and bananas. It felt weird at first but after a month I had saved almost thirty bucks just by tapping a few coupons while I waited in line at the deli counter. I still forget to clip some stuff but when you actually remember it's pretty nice.
