Appreciation post: the scratch and dent rack at the Concord Co-op beat the clearance aisle at the big box store
I started checking the scratch and dent rack at the Concord Co-op about two months ago and it's been saving me real money. Last week I got a bag of local oats for $1.50 and a jar of peanut butter for $2, both just past their sell-by date. The clearance aisle at the big box store near me mostly has weird flavors nobody wants and stuff that's still 30% off, which adds up to not much. I think the difference is the Co-op marks things down fast and deep instead of letting them sit. Anyone else have a favorite markdown spot around here that beats the big stores?
