Spent $18 on a mini tripod just to shoot the empty food court at Northgate Mall, and it was the best money I've dropped in months
Went to Northgate in Akron last Saturday around 10am. Security guy waved me through and said the place had maybe 15 people in it. I set the little tripod on a table by the old pretzel spot and got a wide shot of the whole food court, chairs stacked, nothing lit but the exit signs.
Held my phone steady for 40 seconds and got a clean time lapse of the escalator running with nobody on it. The $18 tripod saved the shot. Tried hand holding the same angle first and everything came out blurry and tilted.
Now I want a better angle down at the old Sears end. Anyone know if that north door is unlocked on weekdays or do I need to ask at the desk?
