Why does nobody talk about public USB ports at airports and train stations?

I stopped at Union Station in Chicago last month and noticed almost every charging kiosk had a little tape over the USB slots, but people were still plugging in anyway. I get that juice-jacking is rare, but with all the warnings about malware and data theft, it feels like we're ignoring the obvious. Meanwhile, everyone stresses about phishing emails, but nobody blinks at using a random port in a busy terminal. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather carry a $15 power bank than risk my phone getting compromised. Has anyone else seen this at their local transit hub and actually told someone about it?
