Used to just use the same password for everything until my neighbor's kid got into her Venmo and drained $400
Now I keep everything in a password manager and my login names are all different too, does anyone have a recommendation for one that works well on both mobile and desktop?

Oh man that Venmo story is rough, $400 is brutal. Something I don't see people talk about much is how you should also change your security questions to fake answers. Like I use "pizza" for my mother's maiden name because that's easy to remember but nobody's gonna guess it from Facebook stalking me. Plus most password managers these days have a spot to store those fake answers too so you don't forget them.

Nah @irisg57, using fake answers is actually a bad idea if you ever need account recovery through a human and can't remember exactly what you put since it's not saved right. Plus if someone already has access to your password manager, they've got all those answers too so you're just giving them a key to every account.

Totally agree, I got burned once when I couldn't remember my fake answer and had to jump through a million hoops to get back into my bank account. What's the point of extra security if you lock yourself out, right?
