Unpopular take on password managers after last month's breach
I used to trust a password manager for everything, but after reading about the August 2024 vault sync flaw in the one I used, I backed up 47 logins to a paper notebook and keep it in my safe. Took me a whole weekend to redo all my critical accounts, but now my main 12 passwords are completely offline and I rotate them monthly. Am I being paranoid, or has anyone else ditched their vault for a physical backup after a security incident?

Paper notebook in the safe is exactly what I did after the LastPass mess a while back. I keep a laminated sheet with my top 10 account passwords and change them every quarter, plus a separate page for the less important ones. It takes a little longer to type them in, but there's no chance of some sync bug wiping everything or leaking it to the cloud. I also add a few fake entries in the notebook just in case someone finds it, that way the real ones are mixed in with gibberish.
