The shift from long passwords to passkeys over 18 months
I help family members with their devices, and I have noticed a real change since early 2023. Back then, I was constantly resetting passwords for people because they forgot them or used the same one everywhere. Now, when I set up a new phone or laptop, many sites push passkeys or biometric login first. Last month alone, I helped three relatives switch their email and bank accounts over to fingerprint or face unlock. The difference is that the login process feels faster and there is no more guessing if they used a capital letter or a number. Has anyone else seen this shift in how non-techy users handle their accounts now?
