The guy who called my job about a "virus" left a voice mail with his own Social Security number in it
Last Wednesday I got a voice mail from a Utah area code saying my computer had a virus and I needed to call back right away. The guy left his full name, his date of birth, and his Medicare number on my machine because he "needed me to verify his identity" first. I played it for my brother in law, who works IT in Denver, and he laughed for a solid minute then said that's the same crowd that calls the help desk asking us to read back their own passwords. I didn't call back but I did report the number to the FTC. Anyone else getting these where the scammer basically doxxes himself before you even pick up?
