Saw a guy at the Denver airport check his boarding pass photo in his camera roll
He pulled up a screenshot from 3 months ago instead of the current one on his phone and almost missed his flight, so now I always double check that my QR code is live and not an old saved image before I get to security.

Honestly, I once saved a screenshot of my parking garage ticket and tried to scan it three times before realizing the gate wasn't broken, it was just my dumb photo. Tbh that was a more embarrassing airport moment than any QR code mix-up.

Learned that lesson the hard way too, @rosek44. What finally worked for me was turning my phone brightness all the way up before trying to scan anything at a gate or kiosk. Saved me so many times at the train station, where the readers are finicky and the screens are always too dim. Also, I zoom in on the code a bit so it fills more of the camera frame, that seemed to help a lot. The worst part is always the line of annoyed people behind you, so now I just snap the photo and check it right away before walking up. Still feels silly when it happens, but at least I fix it faster these days.
