Rant: My bank locked my card while I was in line at a Target in Reno, and the fix took 40 minutes
Someone skimmed my debit card at a gas pump on Tuesday, and my bank caught a $700 charge from a store 2,000 miles away before it went through, so the lock actually saved me. But the rep on the phone still wanted my full account number over the line, which felt weird for a call I did not start. How do you all handle gas pumps, do you wiggle the reader or just pay inside?
Ugh, that account number thing would've weirded me out too, no way I'm reading that off to someone who called me. I still pay inside at gas stations half the time just because of all this skim stuff, even though the guys behind me in line act like I'm committing a crime lol. Last month I watched a dude at a pump yank on the card reader like he was trying to rip it off the machine, and honestly, respect.
