PSA: That week I turned off all my 2FA and nothing bad happened
Last month I got tired of scanning QR codes every time I logged into my bank. So for five days I disabled two-factor authentication on three accounts. No one hacked me. No phish got through. I'm not saying you should do this, but maybe we all panic about this stuff a little too much. Anyone else ever test the limits and come out fine?

And here I thought you were going to tell us you lost your whole life savings to a Nigerian prince. I mean, I get it, scanning a QR code feels like doing pointless busy work for a robot. But honestly, your experiment is like saying you didn't wear a seatbelt for a week and didn't crash, so maybe seatbelts are overrated. You got lucky, not smart.

Look at the numbers though. A 2023 study found QR code phishing attacks went up by 587%. You rolled the dice on a growing threat and happened to come up clean, but that's not a strategy, it's a gamble. The whole point of those scans is to stop something bad before it happens, not to see if you can dodge it for a week.
