Hit 1000 phishing emails in one week at a small nonprofit

I do freelance design work for a local animal shelter in Portland, and last month I checked their email security logs. Over 1000 phishing emails hit their inbox in just 7 days. Most were fake invoice scams pretending to be from vet supply companies. Have you ever run numbers on how many attacks target places like small charities?

Ran the numbers on a similar scale thing for a small clinic last month and it was basically identical, like 900 something phishing emails in a week. Fake invoices are the go to for these scams because smaller places don't always double check vendor info before paying. You might want to set up email filtering that blocks common scam domains before they even hit the inbox.

Oh for sure, we saw the exact same thing at our dental office last quarter. Scammers love targeting places that process a ton of vendor payments without thinking twice about it. Proactive filtering is a lifesaver, it caught a bunch of fake shipping notices before anyone could click on them.
