Found out my camera's security footage was being saved as 5 minute clips, not continuous. Had a gap of 4 minutes during a break-in last Tuesday.

That's a nasty surprise to find out after the fact. Happened to a friend of mine with a different brand. The gap was exactly when someone walked past their front door. Always check the recording mode before you need it. Might be worth looking into motion-activated recording as a backup, fills in the blanks better.

@irisg57 motion activated can miss stuff too if the sensor's pointed wrong.
