Critic said my 2FA setup was lazy, they were right

Someone on here pointed out I was just using SMS codes and called it basically no protection. Switched to an authenticator app and hardware key for my email after that, now I wonder why I fought it for so long. Anyone else get called out on a weak spot they thought was fine?
