Changed my mind about using the same password everywhere after my friend in Austin got his Instagram hacked last month.

He used 'AustinRocks2023' for his email, bank, and social media, and a keylogger on a sketchy game download got everything, which convinced me to finally set up a password manager with 16-character random strings for each account.

Yeah I got burned once by that. Now I just stick to the official stores or direct from the dev's website if they have one. Even if it takes longer to find a legit copy, it's better than dealing with malware cleanup for weeks. Saved me so many headaches just being patient and checking sources.
