$80 spent on a password manager subscription saved my bank account

I ignored warnings for years and used the same password everywhere, then last month my email got hit in a data breach. That password manager notified me within 2 hours and I changed everything before the scammer drained my checking account. How do you guys keep track of all your logins without paying for one of these things?

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but a lot of password managers have free tiers that cover one device or limited logins. I just write mine down in a little notebook I keep in my desk drawer, old school but works for me.

Haha is it bad that I've totally done the notebook thing too? I actually lost mine for three months and had to reset like half my accounts when I found it under my car seat covered in coffee stains. The worst part was drawing little doodles next to the passwords so I wouldn't confuse them, like a little house for my Netflix login and a star for my bank. Oh and I put a fake cover on it that says "Crossword Puzzles" so nobody steals it, which is probably more embarrassing than just having a password book out in the open.
