10 years ago I had zero password managers, now I juggle 4 different apps. What changed?

Did we actually need this much security, or did the industry sell us on a problem that wasn't really there?

Guessing it's the same thing that happened with home security cameras and smart doorbells. The industry figured out how to make us scared enough to buy stuff we didn't know we needed, and now we're all locked into a bunch of apps just to feel safe.

Can't believe we're all just paying monthly fees to watch our own front doors now. I didn't sign up for a second streaming service just to see my mailman.
