Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to prompt for a character who never speaks out loud?
I burned 4 hours last Tuesday trying to write a prompt for a mute character and everything came out sounding like stage directions instead of a story. One side says dialogue tags are cheating and the other says you need them or readers get lost, so where do you all land on silence in a prompt?
