Stumbled on a stat about how many words we write daily compared to 20 years ago

I was reading a blog post about digital communication habits and it said the average person writes about 40,000 words a day now between texts, emails, and social media. Back in 2004 it was more like 10,000. Makes me wonder if that's why my creative writing feels so scattered lately, anyone else notice a shift in their focus when sitting down to write a story?

It ties into how everything now wants our attention in small bites, so our brains get trained to keep jumping instead of settling into one thing. The constant switching between apps and notifications basically turns deep focus into a muscle that just atrophies over time. No wonder sitting down to write a full story feels like pulling teeth when you're used to speed-reading 40,000 fragments a day.
