Plotting by hand for 2 hours beat my writing app in one night

I used to open my notebook app every time I started a story, laying out scenes and character arcs on my phone. Last Tuesday I ran out of battery and grabbed a paper pad and a pen instead. The difference was huge, I actually saw the gaps in my plot and moved a key betrayal from chapter 4 to chapter 7. Has anyone else found that the physical act of writing makes you think slower but clearer? I'm wondering if I should quit digital outlines for good.

Your point about "thinking slower but clearer" hits on something real, but the real win is that paper forces you to commit to a choice without a delete button, so you stop second-guessing and start fixing.
