My character went from wallflower to town gossip in 3 chapters flat

I started writing a shy librarian who barely spoke, and by chapter 6 she was spreading rumors at the general store. The trigger was giving her a pet parrot that repeated everything she said, which forced her to talk more. Has anyone else had a character completely change personality on them like that?

Ngl my shy cleric started doing backflips off tavern tables after I gave her a lucky coin. Characters just do what they want, I guess.

Pick up that lucky coin and suddenly your cleric's got more confidence than the party's bard... happens every time. It's like the game knows when you hand them something shiny and decides to flip their whole personality. @karen_hart I gave my rogue a cursed ring once thinking it'd be a fun little side quest and now he's trying to start a shadow market in every tavern we visit.
