Just realized my detailed outlines were killing every story before I started

I used to plan every scene, every beat, every random thought a character might have. Spent 4 hours mapping out a short piece last Tuesday, then sat down to actually write it and felt zero drive. Nothing. The story was already done in my head so putting it on paper felt like homework. So I flipped it. Picked a two sentence prompt about a bus driver who only stops for people holding yellow flowers. Zero planning. Just started typing. I got 1,800 words in 45 minutes and some of the twists came out of nowhere, even for me. Now I only write a single vague sentence before I start. Anyone else found that planning less actually makes the writing faster or is my brain just wired weird?
